Commitments

Our commitments reflect how Studio DRÈA works — through considered production, responsible sourcing, and long-term relationships with those who make our pieces possible.

Community & Philanthropy

Studio DRÈA exists because of access — to craft, to culture, and to education. We recognise the role that opportunity plays in artistic and creative development, and we believe studios that draw from culture carry a responsibility toward it.

With every bag sold, Studio DRÈA supports arts and dance education programmes. The impact of these initiatives is shared through updates on our website and social channels as they take form.

Community, for us, is not scale. It is continuity — supporting creative practice over time and contributing in a way that is grounded, transparent, and meaningful.

Sustainability

At Studio DRÈA, sustainability is not treated as a programme, but as a consequence of how we design, source, and produce.

Our approach is guided by durability, material integrity, and long-term thinking — creating objects intended to be worn, repaired, and carried forward rather than replaced. Responsibility is embedded across our sourcing and manufacturing decisions, shaping the entire lifecycle of each piece.

Leather

All of our leather is certified as made in Italy and sourced from suppliers operating under strict environmental and social standards.

Our tannery complies fully with EU REACH regulations, ensuring that chemicals used in the tanning process meet health and environmental safety requirements. The leather has also been awarded a Leather Working Group (LWG) Silver Rating, reflecting responsible water, energy, and waste management practices. In addition, the tannery holds TS SC410 certification, ensuring traceability across the supply chain and rigorous control over the origin of the hides used in production.

These standards allow us to work with materials that combine durability, transparency, and responsible craftsmanship.

Lining

The lining of our handbags is made from 100% cotton — a natural, biodegradable fibre selected for its durability and reduced environmental impact compared to synthetic alternatives. Cotton does not shed microplastics and contributes to longer product life through resistance and ease of care. Our lining supplier operates in compliance with all environmental and social regulations in Spain and the European Union.

Beyond production standards, the supplier supports its local community through initiatives including recycling programmes, cultural sponsorships, and contributions to public health efforts.

Hardware

Our hardware supplier holds two internationally recognised certifications:

  • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), demonstrating structured environmental management, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.

  • SA8000 (Social Accountability Standard), ensuring ethical labour practices, safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect for workers’ rights.

These certifications support our commitment to working only with partners who meet clear social and environmental standards.

Packaging

Our packaging is designed to balance protection, reuse, and material responsibility.

Dust bags are made from 100% natural organic cotton. The grosgrain ribbon is composed of 60% recycled cotton and 40% recycled polyester. Shipping boxes feature a dual adhesive closing system, allowing them to be reused easily for returns. Our packaging supplier prioritises recycled, recyclable, and reusable materials, including RPET, PLA, bamboo fibre, hemp, and FSC-certified paper, and uses ecological inks and finishes throughout production. In partnership with Tree-Nation, one tree is planted for every order placed, supporting global reforestation efforts and ecosystem restoration.

Manufacturing

Our commitment to responsibility extends throughout our manufacturing process.

We work with factory partners who comply with all relevant social, ethical, and environmental legislation, and who share our expectations regarding fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and respect for workers. By choosing partners aligned with these standards, we ensure that Studio DRÈA pieces are produced with care — for the people involved, the materials used, and the environments in which they are made.
